After two weeks have passed since the previous season’s events, Omar, who is now at university, takes the chance to apply for an internship at Las Encinas. A new academic year commences three months after Samuel’s death and Benjamin’s arrest for his murder. At Las Encinas, two new students, Isadora and Iván, join the school and form connections with existing upperclassmen, especially Phillipe and Patrick.

After the revelation of classmate Marina’s death, and the subsequent disappearance of Samuel, the second season revolves around the students returning to school for their senior year, focusing primarily on their first semester. Elite initially focuses on three working-class students who win their enrollment at Las Encinas through a scholarship program, and on the social and romantic interactions that they have with several students there. At the end of the season, she graduates and is part of the cover-up of Polo’s murder, although she is shown as one of the most affected by his death. In season three, she earns the contempt of some of her classmates by being with Polo, with whom she plans to go to the same university. At the end of the season, Polo confesses to Cayetana what he did, prompting Cayetana to find the trophy in the lake and hide it to cover up Marina’s murder.
The website’s critical consensus reads, “Elite is back for another entertaining, edge-of-your-seat mystery that succeeds thanks to charismatic characters and a bloody plot that doesn’t take itself too seriously.” He gave the first season an 8.8/10, highlighting that it sets a “new standard for how a high school drama series should be done” and “may be the best high school drama on TV”. Of these, she finds the “love triangle between Marina, Samuel, and his brother Nano to be one of the show’s only duller features”. After Omar leaves his family’s home after feeling suffocated by his dad and family, Ander and his mom take him in. Initially Ander comes by Omar’s family store to go secretly see Omar for ten minutes at a time. Despite trying to redeem himself previously, Polo eventually realises that the best course of action is to turn himself in. Leopoldo “Polo” Benavent Villada (portrayed by Álvaro Rico), he is submissive in nature and will follow the orders of the people he is close to. Over the course of the season, it is mentioned that he was caught again; however, he is eventually released. Despite not making a physical appearance in the third season, an audio of Nano is heard by his family in the first episode, saying that Assilah is well and that he looks forward to seeing them.
